Getting Things Done

Yes, I am getting things done. But that's not really the topic of this post. I wanted to let you know about another book added to my book list: Getting Things Done by David Allen.

I am able to get a lot done, but I'm always open to improving and new ideas.

Book List for 2010

My thoughts are to read three types of books simultaneously: spiritual (in addition to the Bible), professional, and recreational.

While I hope to read one book a month from each category and then write a book summary here, I don't know how realistic this is, but it does solve the blog dilemma I opined about last time.

Topping my spiritual list is Max Lucado's Cure for the Common Life.

My son gifted me with Lewis Carroll's Alice in Wonderland this Christmas. It is beautifully illustrated. What a treasure!

Here's my professional list, complements of Dr. Buckles, my (former) marketing prof. He is the one that assigned the other books reported on in this blog that were so incredibly helpful.

2010 Resolution: Blog

With an MBA under my belt, I should have lots of time to opine about various topics and spew them onto this website for the world to reflect on and be richer for it. Ah, to be an Epicurean and have deep thoughts and the words to articulate them!

For now, I will just start with a small, meager goal: To blog once a week or so and see if I find anything worth while to say.

On a scale of 1 to 10, today is a 1.

Of course, if I blog about anything truly meaningful in my life, I would embarrass my children or husband. Or get myself in trouble with the man who writes me checks to help him with his business. "Hey, did you know how great it was to surf on Monday??" Oh, I was supposed to be working. Sigh.

So drivel it is.

And a "1" it shall stay.
